Allentown is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Allentown is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Brü Daddy’s is a brewpub in downtown Allentown that combines house-made craft beer with a casual American pub-style menu. My friend and I stopped in for the first time the other night. Some of the food was good, while some of it was a major disappointment. We wanted to start with the K-Pop eggrolls, which sounded and looked amazing. Unfortunately, they were sold out. Not the best way to start things off. Since the eggrolls weren’t available, we opted for the signature BBQ wings. They were meaty, tender, and well sauced. They could have used a few more minutes in the fryer to crisp up, but overall they were enjoyable. Next, we shared the Smash Daddy double smashburger, topped with American cheese, shredded lettuce, grilled onions, pickles, and a special sauce similar to Big Mac sauce. It was juicy, flavorful, and hit the spot. All smashburgers are served with house-cut fries, pub chips, or a side salad. We went with the fries, but sadly, they were limp and over-salted. We wrapped things up with the Valley cheesesteak wood-fired pizza. It was heavy, floppy, and greasy, with almost no flavor. We both agreed it was one of the worst pizzas we’ve ever had. Service was solid and pa

We had fun with a flight to taste some different brew concoctions and then snagged a few extra full pours/cans. I was a huge fan of the kiffle beer. Would come again when in the area to try whatever’s new on the board

Food was just fine. The pretzel was genuinely bad though, waaaaay too dense and almost stale? Loaded fries and buffalo pizza were good. Wings and cheese pizza were just ok. They were understaffed so service was slow, but we weren’t in a rush so it wasn’t a big deal and everyone there was still nice. Also, if you’re planning to come before a show or event nearby make sure to make a reservation, they turned away basically all walk ins when we were there (Saturday evening before a show at the Archer)

Great downtown location for a pizza and beer restaurant. Great vibes that you can tell are hopping on the weekend or week nights. We don’t get to try the beer, since we were driving it the pizza was tasty. Happy Goat and Bianca Diablo were our two choices in wood fired pizza. Apples on a pizza is new and different. The Bianca Diablo was amazing.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon for ladies brunch and chose to sit in the open air section. They have a lovely ambiance. There were few customers only and we felt like we have the place to ourselves for a quick photo shoot, lol. Although, there wasn’t much of rush, the server who was waiting us took pretty long to come back for taking our food order. It took a while even for the drinks to be served but the drinks were good and they took care of my dietary restriction. My friends tried two different types of beer and liked both. I don’t recall the names though. The server was friendly. The food was mostly good. We ordered two types of wings - 1) Seoul spice - expected it to be spicy but it was bland with no specific taste punch and, 2) lemon pepper - which was good. If we talk about the quality of wings per se, all of us felt that the wings itself was way too dry and didn’t feel fresh and the celery served with it was stale. We also ordered Pimento cheese dip - the dip was just ok but the crostini was good. Onion rings were good. Pizzas - The Roma and Bianca Diablo were both good. We were celebrating birthdays of two of our friends but it was a bummer that they didn’t have any dess
